Occupational Therapist — Help People Build Skills, Confidence, and Independence 

Are you a compassionate, creative Occupational Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals gain independence and reach meaningful goals? Flatrock is looking for a dedicated professional to join our team and make a lasting impact through person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent care. 

In this role, you’ll use your clinical expertise to assess needs, develop practical therapy plans, collaborate with treatment teams, and support residents as they build everyday life skills in a supportive care environment. 

Hybrid schedule - Work Monday and Friday from home and Tuesday-Thursday in office!!!

What You’ll Do 

  • Perform skill acquisition assessments focused on activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. 

  • Develop individualized skill acquisition goals and intervention plans that support independence and daily success. 

  • Complete sensory assessments and create sensory therapy goals and intervention plans. 

  • Conduct adaptive assessments and provide professional recommendations based on each person’s needs. 

  • Maintain accurate written records of assessments, interventions, and progress toward goals. 

  • Collaborate with providers, psychiatrists, medical professionals, and treatment team members to coordinate clinical care and treatment planning. 

  • Participate in program trainings, person-centered planning trainings, behavior management review committee meetings, clinician trainings, and management trainings as required. 

  • Support group outings when available and help create meaningful community-based experiences. 

  • Communicate daily activities to your direct supervisor and use required communication tools, including FIN. 

  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with management, staff, residents, and treatment partners. 

  • Advocate for and protect the rights of all Flatrock residents. 

  • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. 

What We’re Looking For 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Occupational Therapy. 

  • Current, valid Occupational Therapy license in the State of Michigan. 

  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, practices, and treatment approaches. 

  • Comfort using computer programs and creative media to support treatment planning and documentation. 

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with a variety of personalities, needs, and support goals. 

  • Commitment to continued learning, professional growth, and current treatment practices. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

  • Flexibility to work the hours needed to meet job responsibilities, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
